Beginning of the project: Analysis of the Requirements and Parameters of Range of Podcast

  • Analyse what is a podcast;

  • Types of podcast:

    • Audio Podcast;

    • Video Podcast;

    • Political Podcast;

    • Podcast Novel;

    • Music Podcast.

Today at class I start my Podcast project, and I start to researched all about it: what is a podcast, what types of podcast exist, I look up for examples around each podcast. I found some podcast that inspired me to do what I wanted of my podcast (first one), like the podcast presented by Will Hines, Curtis Gwinn, Joel Spence and Ariana Lenarsky, "Screw it We're Just Gonna Talk About The Beatles"; they do a podcast all together talking about the albums of the Beatles and some favorite songs of each one. Also other podcast that inspired me was the Rolling Stones Music Now podcast where they talk about music, news and new releases around that week.

This podcast inspired me in the way they talk, in the way they start a conversation with the public, how they call the attention of the public for what they are talking about, the sound of their voices.

Podcast Plan:

  • Schedule Planned;

  • Proposal & Treatment.

For today's class I dedicate my time to schedule every day for the production of my podcast, planning the day that I would record, for the day or days that I need to edit my podcast; writing the proposal and treatment about my project, what I wanted to do, what I pretend with this project, what questions I want to answer with the podcast, the theme, what I'm going to ask, etc.

Podcast Plan:

  • Schedule Planned;

  • Proposal & Treatment;

  • Questions;

In today's class I was back completely to my podcast project, after I had 3 projects in the middle of my planning. The last time that I planned my podcast my idea was to interview a band that I worked for my music video project, Shoot The Moon, but because our schedules where totally different this idea couldn't go forward so I change my theme completely: now my theme was my own course that I'm studying at the Bridgwater & Taunton College (Taunton Campus).

My course is Creative Media (Tv, Film & Radio) and right know we want to shared and get people to know about it outside the college. For that I had an idea of interview two of my colleges at the course and they would talk about their experience with the course, what they learned in this year, what they want to proceed, what the course has to offer, etc.

Podcast recording:

  • Characters (Kerrie Sloper & Chloe Robertson);

  • Music (Cold Funk- Funkorama);

  • Theme (Creative Media course: TV, Film & Radio);

  • Paperwork;

  • Start Editing.

Today was the day that I record my podcast. I recorded at the Tv Studio, where can be quiet and give a good quality sound at the end. I interview Kerrie Sloper and Chloe Robertson, two of my colleges and they talk about their own experience, they gave their opinion about the course and how they would recommend the course to other people.

I start writing the paperwork for this project like risk assessment, location report, schedule, script; At the end of the day I start editing my podcast with both interviews.
